Listen: Analyzing the Client-Designer Relationship
In order to exemplify the importance of designing with the client and audience in mind, I reached out to six design professionals who represented a target audience/client that a designer may one day have to work with. Each participant received a prompt where they were to act as a client in need of a logo created for a fabricated social media business and I was the designer appointed for the task.
There were a total of four rounds and in each round I would send a creative brief explaining the changes made to their logo with multiple versions for them to choose from, as well as a link to a survey with specific questions and room for open suggestions. The only form of communication used was through email, so it was imperative for me to communicate very clearly and making sure all details were addressed. My hopes were to see how dramatically this one logo could changed based on the feedback and perspectives of each person.
